Loy & Co advised the shareholder of Völkel Mikroelektronik GmbH on the sale of his company to the Swedish industrial holding company Dacke Industri AB.
The shareholder and founder of Völkel Mikroelektronik GmbH and Dacke Industri AB signed an agreement for the acquisition of Völkel Mikroelektronik by Dacke Industri on December 7, 2023. The transaction was completed on the same day.
Together with the existing management team, Dacke Industri intends to further drive Völkel’s growth by strengthening its sales capabilities and expanding its geographical presence.
Völkel Mikroelektronik GmbH was founded in 1984 by Ulrich Völkel in Münster and has since developed from a pure manufacturer of control systems to a leading provider of integrated product and software solutions for mobile machinery used in the construction and forestry industries, among others. With its products and applications, the company serves medium-sized customers from the DACH region as well as internationally active OEMs and construction companies.
Dacke Industri AB, based in Helsingborg, Sweden, invests in innovative and leading technology companies, particularly in Northern Europe and the DACH region. As an industrial holding company owned by the charitable foundation of the Swedish Ax:son Johnson family, Dacke Industri combines the long-term investment horizon and industrial expertise of a strategic investor with the speed and agility of a financial investor.
Due to Dacke Industri’s decentralized organization, the portfolio companies enjoy a high degree of autonomy, so that further development always takes place in close cooperation with the existing management team and the employees of the acquired companies.
The portfolio currently includes 18 companies that serve customers worldwide with their products and applications and generate annual sales of more than 350m EUR (4bn SEK) with a total of approx. 1,800 employees.
